Dog Daycare Near Ballantrae, Mount Albert & East Gwillimbury — Just Minutes from Gormley

Dog Daycare Near Ballantrae, Mount Albert & East Gwillimbury

If you’re a dog owner in Ballantrae, Mount Albert, or anywhere in East Gwillimbury, you’ve probably noticed — there isn’t a single dedicated dog daycare facility nearby. You’ve got a vet or two, maybe a boarding kennel, but nothing purpose-built for structured, daily dog daycare run by behaviour professionals.

Academy Daycare in Gormley changes that. We’re just 10-15 minutes south of Ballantrae and Mount Albert, making us the closest professional daycare facility for most East Gwillimbury residents.

The Closest Professional Daycare to Your Door

Gormley sits right at the southern edge of East Gwillimbury, in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville. If you’re in Ballantrae, you’re looking at about 10 minutes down Highway 48. From Mount Albert, it’s about 15 minutes south on Highway 48 or via Woodbine Avenue.

Compare that to the alternatives — Newmarket is 20+ minutes north and has limited options. Stouffville is 15-20 minutes south. Richmond Hill is 25+ minutes. For daily drop-off and pickup, proximity matters, and we’re the shortest drive for most dog owners in the area.

Drop-Off Fits Your Commute

Our drop-off window is 7:00-10:00 AM, and pickup is 3:00-8:00 PM. If you’re commuting south toward the GTA for work, Gormley is directly on your route — drop your dog off on the way down, pick them up on the way home. No detours, no backtracking.

What We Offer

Academy Daycare isn’t a kennel with a play area attached. We’re an 8,500 sq ft facility staffed by canine behaviour specialists with 15 years of experience and a perfect safety record. Here’s what that means for your dog:

Standard Daycare — $55/day

Structured socialization for well-adjusted dogs. Your dog is placed in a temperament-matched play group — not grouped by size, but by energy level and play style. The day alternates between supervised indoor play sessions, outdoor yard time, and structured rest periods.

This isn’t a free-for-all. Our staff actively manage every group, reading body language and intervening before problems start. That’s why we’ve maintained a perfect safety record for 15 years.

Behavioural Daycare — $95/day

For dogs that need more support — reactive dogs, nervous dogs, high-energy dogs that struggle to settle. Smaller group sizes, hands-on trainer management, and a gradual confidence-building approach. If your dog has been turned away from another daycare, or if you’re worried about how they’ll handle a group setting, this is the right starting point.

Day & Train — $95/day

The most popular program. Your dog gets full obedience training — sit, down, stay, come, place command, loose leash walking — combined with daycare socialization. They receive dedicated 1-on-1 training sessions throughout the day, plus treadmill fitness and place cot training.

Think of it as a board & train program without the boarding. Your dog comes home every night, you stay involved, and results typically show within 2-3 weeks. This program is also ideal for intact dogs, who get individualized management throughout the day.

Boarding — $75/night

Overnight care with the same structured approach. Extended stays of 7+ nights drop to $65/night. Great for vacations, work travel, or holiday periods.

Multi-Day Packs

Most of our clients from Ballantrae and Mount Albert come 3-5 days a week. The packs make that more affordable:

  • Daycare: 5-day $265 · 10-day $500 · 15-day $705 · Unlimited $649/mo
  • Day & Train: 5-day $465 · 10-day $900 · 15-day $1,305 · Unlimited $1,395/mo

Unlimited plans include bath and nail trim.

Why This Area Needs Better Options

Ballantrae, Mount Albert, and the surrounding East Gwillimbury communities have grown significantly in recent years. New homes, new families, new dogs — but the pet services infrastructure hasn’t kept up. The closest boarding options have been places like Goldenvale, which is no longer accepting new clients. Beyond that, you’re looking at a long drive in any direction.

Meanwhile, dogs in these communities are spending 8-10 hours home alone while their owners work. They’re under-socialized, under-stimulated, and developing the exact behavioural problems — destructiveness, anxiety, reactivity — that structured daycare prevents.

Regular daycare, even 2-3 days a week, gives your dog the socialization, exercise, and mental stimulation they need. Dogs that attend consistently come home calmer, behave better, and are genuinely happier. It’s not about convenience (though it is convenient) — it’s about giving your dog what they actually need.

Getting Started Is Simple

No complicated assessment process. No multi-visit trials. Here’s what you need:

  1. Vaccinations: Current rabies, bordetella, and DHPP
  2. Age: At least 16 weeks old
  3. Spay/neuter: Strongly recommended but not required
  4. That’s it. We can handle any dog — we’ve been doing this for 15 years

You’ll receive weekly report cards on your dog’s progress, behaviour in group settings, and any notes from our team.
